Does the County have a Capital Improvement Plan?
The County has a 10 year capital improvement plan (CIP) that looks out ten years into the future and tries to capture potential capital needs the County may have to consider. Usually projects of at least $1 million and/or would take multiple years to complete are considered for the CIP. The CIP is updated biannually and covers everything from County projects such as new buildings or renovations to existing buildings, Durham Public School needs, Durham Technical Community College needs, the NCMLS, libraries, and even water treatment plants. CIP documents can be found here. http://www.dconc.gov/government/departments-a-e/budget-management-services/budget-documents
